The Serb continues his error-free run at the Miami Open. At 37 years and 10 months, he became the oldest player to reach the semi-finals of an ATP Masters 1000 tournament, surpassing the previous record held by Roger Federer.

Djokovic made it to the semifinals by defeating Sebastian Korda (ATP #25) with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (4) after a battle lasting one hour and 24 minutes. The two players were closely matched in terms of performance, with the Serbian only managing to break the American’s serve at 4-3, and then confirming the break with another clean service game.

The second set, however, started with a bang for Korda: a break in the very first game of the Serbian’s serve. The two players then focused on holding their service games, bringing the score to 5-2 in favor of the American. Djokovic, however, responded with a break and won three consecutive games.

The match extended into a tiebreak, where only one point escaped the American. It was on his final ace (the 11th of the match!) that the world number 5 concluded the match. This victory at Hard Rock Stadium brings him even closer to his 100th career title and a potential 7th Miami title.

However, he will first have to face Grigor Dimitrov (ATP #15) tonight at 20:00 CET in a semifinal that has an average age of 35 years.
